M&M Rust Designs is based in Tigard, Oregon, and run by Mark Rust — a retired technology guy who found out that making things for people is a pretty great way to spend the second half of a career. The "M&M" honors my late wife, Merrill, who passed away in 2025. The name stays. So does the reason behind it.
The business started in 2022, mostly as a way to justify an embarrassing number of lasers and 3D printers. 😄 But somewhere between the first scripture sign and the hundredth welcome sign, it turned into something more than that. Making things — and watching people find pieces that feel like them — turns out to be a genuinely good way to connect with the world.
Everything here is made with laser cutting / engraving, UV printing, or hand-finishing. Many pieces can be personalized — names, dates, places, custom text — in ways that often surprise people who didn't know to ask. If you see something you like but wish it said something slightly different, just ask. That's kind of the whole point.
We sell online here at mmrustdesigns.com, and you'll find us occasionally at craft fairs hosted by local churches and community groups in the Tigard area. Come say hello if you see us — we're the ones with too many signs and not enough table space. 🪧
